Further delay of the start-up of the pilot plant
Unfortunately, the company Aquagreen announced last week that the start-up of the pilot at Ellinge WWTP will be further delayed.
In April 2022, VA SYD signed a contract with Aquagreen for the delivery of a pilot plant to the Testbed Ellinge project. The preliminary schedule was for the pilot to be handed over to VA SYD in March 2023. The schedule has since been significantly delayed on two occasions. This is due to a lack of resources at Aquagreen, additional development and production time for this specially built pilot plant, changed design due to experiences gained in full scale, and partly due to delayed component deliveries.
Last week, Aquagreen announced another delay. The handover can now only take place in the second half of June 2024. The main reason is that the project planning for electrical and automation work has been subpar and that it takes longer to dry test the plant than expected.A setback for the project, all of its subprojects suffer from this 15-month long delay.
