This new article, Primary filtration of municipal wastewater with sludge fermentation – Impacts on biological nutrient removal, presents results from the ICU project, where a new pretreatment with filtration and fermentation of filter sludge has been tested on a pilot scale. The filtration and carbon source added to the water are studied, and the new pretreatment is compared to a more conventional presedimentation.
