Current research on sludge biochar
On Tuesday, November 22, project manager David Gustavsson made a guest appearance at the project Boost Nordic Biogas webinar on “Pyrolysis of sludge to obtain biochar”.
David talked about Testbädd Ellinge’s driving forces and activities as well as opportunities and challenges with sludge pyrolysis and biochar. But he had also compiled the number of published scientific publications about pyrolysis of municipal sewage sludge and which subject areas they were published in during the year 2023.

At the webinar two pyrolysis supplier companies, Aquagreen and Pyreg presented their technologies, Anders Finnson at Svenskt Vatten updated us on what’s new on sludge regulations in the EU and Antti Vihavainen at Puro.earth talked about carbon credits.
In total, 64 people attended the webinar.
